Interview with A Destined Death Author Lisa Rayns

A Destined Death just came out, will you tell us a little bit about it?

I’d love to! A Destined Death is a lighthearted yet suspenseful paranormal romance. It’s about a vampire who’s been tracking one soul for decades but whenever he finds her, he can’t bear to take her life even though it means he could be with her forever. Each time she’s reborn, fate takes her life before he can turn her, and this book is the story of his final chance to claim her. It’s about soul mates, and to me, it’s the most romantic story ever.

Will this be the only book in the series?

This book has been a stand-alone since its creation but the beta readers and a few of the people who’ve read it since the release say they want more. So, I’ve decided to leave it up to the readers. I’ve created a Facebook page for A Destined Death for people to “Like” if they want more as a way to vote. If I get enough interest, I would love to write more about these characters.

Are you currently working on anything else?

Right now, I am completing the second book in my Wanted: Vampire series (Bad Blood).

Please tell us about what else you have out…

My novella, Curse of the Egyptian Goddess, has been out since October of last year.

I also have a short story called Autumn’s Call in the anthology Cupid Painted Blind.

Do you have any advice for authors wanting to publish? Why did you choose to go indie?

I went the more traditional route, submitting my work to publishers and waiting forever and a day to hear back. In August of last year, I received an offer to contract my book: Wanted: Vampire (Free Blood). It’s a small publisher so I guess I’m still considered Indy but that was huge for me. I finally felt real as an author. It will be released on August 24th of this year!

My advice is to never give up on your dream.

What is your favorite writing snack?

Twizzlers and gummy bears.

What gets you in the mood to write?

Music, art, and bright colors inspire me and help the words flow.

Who is your favorite character and why?

Draven is my favorite character in this book. He is the man of my fantasies and the inspiration for this story.

Favorite book of all time?

Well, I spent four years on Wanted: Vampire (Free Blood) so I think it’s my favorite book of all time. After all, I write what I like!

I think breakfast says a lot about a person, what is your perfect breakfast?

Perfect? Life cereal!

Do you have a book boyfriend? hmm you can’t have Holden…okay I’ll share.

Actually, this may be a little weird but I love Draven. Holden, of course, from Secrets by Liz Schulte does come in second!

Here’s where you can find Lisa’s book!

A Paranormal Romance Novel
