I’m so excited to say we are the first stop of Cait Lavender’s Blog Tour and she joined us for an interview. Some of you know that Cait is actually a reviewer for this site but I can honestly say until I read Hunter Moon I had NO IDEA what a fantastic writer she was. She is up there with Patricia Briggs and Kim Harrison for me.

Mandie – You have written Hunter Moon, and two shorts – Cowboy Moon and Fool Moon I was wondering if you are you a full-time or part-time writer?

Cait – I’m a part-time writer, full-time mother, cook, housekeeper, laundress and booboo kisser.

Mandie – Cait the Super Writer/ Super Mom? Considering Shelby owns a ranch I was wondering how do you like your steak?

Cait - Rare! If it’s good beef, a steak should always be rare and never eaten with A1. *shudder*

Mandie – Amen Sister! I’ve fallen in love with your Lupine Series, can you tell our readers little bit about it and where the idea came from?

Cait – The idea really stemmed from my love of werewolves and my experience in the cowboy culture. All of the books in this series are going to have that western element mixed with wolves and like chocolate and peanut butter, they make magic together.

Mandie - Please tell me Cash from Hunter Moon is based on someone real.

Cait – I hate to burst your bubble, but Cash is 100% my imagination. I like to believe there are men like him in real life; brave, loyal, chivalrous and immensely good looking.

Mandie - Damn. Well then I’m in love with your imagination! Tell us about the other books in this series.

Cait - So far Hunter Moon is the first full-length book in this series, but I do have a couple short stories, Cowboy Moon and Fool Moon. I’m hoping to have the second book out in 2013.

Mandie – Maybe if I beg it will be sooner? Silly questions but whatFavorite Super Natural Being?

Cait – Really? Werewolves of course! I’m a sucker for any type of shifter though, be it wolf, coyote, lion or bear. I guess it’s the best of both worlds; you get to tap into primal instincts and still have opposable thumbs so you can open doors.

Mandie – Yeah I should have guessed but I didn’t know if you had a special place in your heart for blood suckers.

What is your Favorite writing snack?

Cait - Probably coconut Hershey’s kisses. Those might as well be crack as far as I’m concerned, but any kind of salted caramel is good too.

Mandie – Hmm yummy. Speaking of yummy…Who is your book boyfriend?

Cait – It’s probably a tie between Mr. Darcy of Pride & Prejudice and Jericho Barrons from the Fever series. They’ve ruined me for men, both real and fictional.

Mandie – Any advice for someone wanting to publish?*whispers – Like me*

Cait – Do it! I know a lot of people hesitate to publish out of some fear, but once you know the tricks, Indy Pubbing is easy and very rewarding!

Mandie – Well Cait, I think you are going to hit it big. Your books are Fan-Tastic!

Anything we should know about you and your books?

Cait – Hmm…We’re both snarky and sarcastic? I don’t take myself too seriously and I think that shows in my books. I tend to poke fun at everyone and everything, so if you’re looking for some Lord of the Rings Fantasy saga, I’m probably not your woman. But if you’re up for a giggle and a little steamy romance you’ve come to the right place.
